What is Lanthanum Nitrate?

The abbreviation "AR" means "Analytical Reagent," and it is safe to use for research operations requiring precision, while “LR” Grade chemicals are commonly called UNILAB and are used primarily for educational or teaching labs. Purity levels are high.

Lanthanum Nitrate is a highly water-soluble crystalline solid and salt of lanthanum. It is known to be hygroscopic and a strong oxidisder. Lanthanum nitrate decomposes at 500 degrees Celsius and forms lanthanum oxide, nitric oxide and oxygen. It is used in chemical and manufacturing as an intermediate and oxidising reagent.

Lanthanum nitrate is a starting material for the electrochemical synthesis of Lanthanum Manganite (LaMnO3) thin film coating on stainless steel substrates. It is also used to prepare Lanthanum Aluminate (LAO) thin films.
