What is Starch Soluble LR/AR?

Starch soluble (LR/AR) is a carbohydrate widely used for various food and non-food preparations. It appears to be a white granular organic chemical produced by all Green plants. Starch soluble has wide industrial uses, like ethanol and biofuel production. Starch soluble is a modified starch capable of being dissolved in hot water to give off a limpid solution and is formed by raw starch by mild treatment with acids and oxidation or by heating with glycerol.

Plants naturally synthesise starch which is a polymer of amylose and amylopectin. It is a form of carbohydrate storage for plants and is found in large quantities in potatoes, wheat and corn.
