Silver DiethylDithioCarbamate is an odourless fine chemical that is used for the detection of arsenic and for the introduction of the diethyldithiocarbamate ligand. It appears to be a greenish yellow crystals or can be made into powder. Spin trap used in conjugation with Fe2+ to detect Nitrogen Oxide in brain, kidney, liver and other body tissues.

It works as a copper chelator and has been used to measure the quantity of copper in biological materials by ESR and also works as an inhibitor for some biological enzymes like superoxide dismutase and ascorbate oxidase. It plays an important role in the colourimetric detection of arsenic (an element that can cause lung and skin cancers and may cause other cancers as well) that shows its biochemical and medical importance.
