What is Silver Iodide LR & AR Grade?

The abbreviation "AR" means "Analytical Reagent," and it is safe to use for research operations requiring precision, while “LR” Grade chemicals are commonly called UNILAB and are used primarily for educational or teaching labs. Purity levels are high.

Silver iodide is a white to light yellow inorganic solid and proves to be photosensitive. Silver iodide and carbon dioxide (dry ice) have been resulted to be the most effective; when used in supercooled clouds (composed of water droplets at temperatures below freezing). The resulting water vapour deposits into ice crystals, which build quickly as water droplets attach themselves with each other. It can be used as an antiseptic and in cloud seeding application (a type of weather modification).

As silver iodide becomes transparent in mid-infrared regions, it acts as a reflection-enhancing coating for the hollow optical fibre.
